Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap Witnesses Income Tax Raid

Actor Taapsee Pannu and Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap are facing Income tax raid over tax invasions. Income tax officials carried out searches in Anurag and Taapsee’s house in Mumbai including other 20 locations.

Union Information and Broadcasting minister Prakash Javedkar pointing to the raid said “The Income Tax department probes someone based on whatever information they get. The issue goes to court later.”

The news has already made headlines as people call it to be the government’s action against the speakers.

Taapsee is another Bollywood celeb who has been in talks about her political views. Whether it was condemning the CAA implementation or supporting the farmer protests, she has stood for both.

Anurag Kashyap is known for his anti-government responses to national issues and is often disliked by the government supporters.

The Income tax raid on these two celebs have created a division on social media channels with divergent views on the raid.

Not just the citizens, some ministers opposed the Income tax raid.

"The way in which raids were conducted in the homes and offices of Anurag Kashyap and Tapasee Pannu, this is definitely the usage of Enforcement Directorate or the Income Tax against those who take a stand against the government or its policies. Anurag Kashyap and Tapasee Pannu have raised their voice against the Modi government's policies. This action is an attempt to suppress their voices," Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik said.

The premises linked to a talent agency as well as Phantom Films, which was co-promoted by Anurag Kashyap and producers Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena is also raided by the Income Tax Department.

Taapsee and Anurag are called to be real friends of Bollywood and often seen naming each other when it comes to applauding each other.
