Mexican Drug Lord El Chapo’s Wife Arrested In U.S

 Mexican drug king Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's wife has been detained in the United States on Monday and has been accused of helping her husband's multi-million dollar cartel to plant a daring flight to Mexico in 2015.

A former beauty queen, Emma Coronel Aispuro, who was 31 and is scheduled to appear in Washington on Tuesday, was arrested at Dulles International Airport. She's a dual U.S. and Mexican citizen.

Emma Coronel is charged with conspiracy to administer help to his prisoned husband, send arms and ammunitions to him, distribute cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs in the U.S.

WUSA9 Reporter Adam Lango shared the complaint report against Coronel.

Her detention was the latest step in the long-standing boss of the Sinaloa Drogen Cartel, Guzman.

In 2017, Guzman was extradited to the United States for serving life in prison, whose two horrific escapees from jail in Mexico led to a legend that he and his family were all but untammable 

Chapo’s prison escapes became the story-liner for defining the legends of Mexico and also questioned the entire Mexico’s security conundrum.

Court documents accuse Coronel of collaborating with the sons of Guzman and a witness who is now working together with the U.S. government to coordinate the building of the underground tunnel used to escaping from the prison in Altiplano so that he could not extradite him to the US. The complot included the purchase of a piece of land close to the jail, weapons and an armed lorry, and the smugs of GPS to "specify the exact location of the tunnel to a dock accessible to it.

Coronel who in her youth was a beauty Queen frequently attended the Guzman's courtroom. 

The two have been together since at least 2007 and their twin daughters were born in 2011.

After his escape, Guzman was re-arrested and lobbied the Mexican Government to change the conditions in which her husband was incarcerated. She moved to start a clothing line on his name after he was arrested in 2019.
