#PriyankaGandhiVadra'sBirthday: How Robert Met Priyanka
If one thing Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is remembered for in the recent times is her rise like a phoenix in the Indian political domain since the absenteeism of Sonia Gandhi from the mainstream politics. On the morning of the 12th of January, social media platforms like twitter exploded with congratulatory wishes on her birthday:
Just few day earlier, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra urged her party members to take example from the USA and take a knee in the light of recent farmer's protests in the country.
Priyanka Gandhi is the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee in charge of Uttar Pradesh and is regarded as a youth leader of the country.

Robert Vadra originally belongs to Moradabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh. His grandfather Rajendra Vadra had married a British woman and his sister Michelle Vadra studied in the same school where Priyanka was studying. Robert met Priyanka for the first time through his sister Michelle. At that time, Priyanka was just 13 years old and it was the early 90's when India was undergoing a series of economic reforms and recovering from Rajiv Gandhi's assasination. Robert Vadra also gave her necessary support in those tough days.
The Vadra family was involved in brassware and artificial jewelry business. Robert started to gift attractive jewelry to Priyanka, which she would appreciate, however, may reports suggest that Priyanka preferred simplicity. As they grow, the friendship between Robert Vadra and Priyanka flourished. He also became a close friend of Rahul Gandhi who is Priyanka's brother. The friendship came into the media light when Priyanka, without any planning, went to Moradabad to see Robert Vadra. Proposing Priyanka must have been a tough task for Robert since she was always surrounded by SPG personnel. However, being a childhood friend, Robert pulled it off and after realising his love when he was abroad, one fine day he decided to propose Priyanka directly for marriage. Priyanka instantly accepted this offer. Rahul was already a friend of Robert but Sonia Gandhi initially did show some objection to this marriage. After a minimal tussle, both the families agreed.
However, reports suggest that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) was asked to check the background of Robert Vadra and his family. Once the IB gave the green signal, all was set for marriage.
Unfortunately, Michelle who was the reason behind the marriage of Priyanka and Robert died in 2001 in a road accident.
Robert and Priyanka have been married for years now and are proud parents of Miraya Vadra, and Raihan Vadra.
Priyanka Gandhi has taken keen interest in Buddhism and completed her Masters in Buddhist studies in the year 2010. Her official entry into the politics took place in the year 2019. Although Congress lost the elections, Priyanka was now a significant figure in the political sphere.
