India Pays Homage To Its First Native Freedom Fighter, The Rajput King Maharana Pratap On His Death Anniversary | Twitter Trends With #MaharanaPratap

Regarded as one of India’s finest war strategists and the founder of guerrilla warfare, MaharanaPratap was the Rajput King of Mewar. Also known as the most formidable fighter, fear wasn’t a word in Pratap’s rulebook. Relative to his massive physique with a height of 7 feet 5 inches, for war against cruel Mughals, he used to carry 360 Kgs of Weapons & Amour Weight that included a spear weighing 80 Kgs, two swords weighing 208 Kgs, and an armour weighing 72 Kgs. His own weight was 110 Kgs, making it a total of 470Kgs of weight- A ready for battlefield weight. Therefore to sustain this kind of weight with Agility, a special horse breed named ‘Chetak’ was used. Maharana’s Chetak was a tint blue rare species of horse, specially trained for the Herculean Maharana Pratap.

On 19th January, 1597, Maharana Pratap took his last breath in his Mewar fort as the King of Mewar. On this day every year, India pays homage to its first native freedom fighter who stood against the Mughal invaders for the rights & lives of Hindus in the northern province of present of India. Hindus would have turned to extinction by the hands of Mughals if we did not had Legendary warriors like Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sikh Warriors like Guru Gobind Singh and a lot more, warriors who led many to the path of freedom and sparked the love for the motherland, warriors like Maharana Pratap who fought for our protection and secured our place in the world, for the generations to arrive. It becomes every Indian’s sole responsibility to ‘never forget the history’ and to learn to pay thanking tributes to all the warriors who fought to protect the cultural of Bharat. They are the reason, we are here – alive and independent.

Being the Rajput King of Mewar, Maharana Pratap stood like a mighty wall against the Mughal invaders. He defended the mewar from the frequent attacks by the fiendish Mughal emperor Akbar, who had already conquered most of the present India. The Rajput king of Mewar, Maharana Pratap, was born on 9th May 1540. He was the eldest son of Uday Singh II, the founder of Udaipur City, and Maharani Jaiwant Bai.

Thanks But No Thanks to Akbar

Just after the 5th diplomatic mission, Maharan Pratap sent his son, Amar Singh, to the Mughal court to reject Akbar's proposal for negotiation. Since Pratap himself did not appear before the Mughal Dictator, Akbar took the offense. Because of his act of resistance, Akbar planned to go ahead and battle with Pratap.

The excellence of Pratap in fighting a battle was demonstrated during the War of Haldighati in 1576. Mughal Emperor Akbar directed Man Singh I, one of his officers in the Rajput Army, and Asaf Khan I, to destroy Pratap and his army of patriots. Man Singh and Asaf Khan had led an army almost half the size of the total Mughal army and held a position in Haldighati, a mountainous pass about 40 kilometers from Udaipur. Amid this Maharana Pratap showing a great picture of valour won the war.
