Know Why #BeWiseEatRight is Trending | Dietary Campaign or Something Else!
#BeWiseEatRight has been recently trending on social media as awareness to healthy dietary plans into our lives. The campaign runs with an ideology of raising awareness among people regarding health benefits of ‘A Vegetarian Diet’. A good eating plan helps you manage your weight and must include a variety of healthy items on your plate. A mix of various vegetables and fruits would look like an array of colourful rainbow on your plate. Fresh herbs, Leafy greens, citric fruits, fibrous roots and mineral rich fluids, all of them should compile for a healthy diet.
The whole idea of spreading healthy awareness looks exceptionally great but there’s a similarity in all of the trends on social media. The catch is that, almost all tweets on twitter contain a reference of Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan, a claimed saint in India who is also the head of Indian social group called Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) since 1990. Gurmeet Ram Rahim was recently convicted of rape charges and was also convicted of being involved in the murder of Journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati. The news group of Indian Express had recently placed Ram Rahim at 96th place in their list of 100 most powerful Indians of 2015.
Ram Rahim was convicted of rape by a special unit of CBI on 25th August 2017, his conviction had led to a vandalising situation where members of DSS and administrative authorities clashed, leaving several dead and wounded. Earlier Ram Rahim was sentenced to a 20 years in prison post which on January 2019, he was convicted of the murder of Journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and is now facing a sentence of life imprisonment.
The #BeWiseEatRight is campaign supposedly run by members of DSS who earlier this week ran another social media campaign with hashtag #DisastarReliefIndia spreading the message of involvement of DSS members for lending a helping hand during natural calamities. Meanwhile social media is flooded with messages and creative telling us to switch our diets to a pure vegetarian one.
Now whether this is a social campaign to glorify Ram Rahim’s image or it is genuinely a campaign to raise healthy diet awareness, we leave it up to you.
