#TowardsACivilizedLife: Dera Sacha Sauda's noble initiative

Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) is an Indian non-governmental organization notoriously described as a "religious cult" and "non-profit social welfare dera". It is once again in news, however this time for all good reaons. Few days back, and also covered by checkbrand.online, the organization initiated an organ donation camp which made it across the social media platforms under the hashtag #LiveLifeTwice. DSS seems to indulge in a lot of philanthropy work recently. This time they have come up with a noble initiative by providing skill development to the tribal communities:

Social media platforms are bustling with the news with hashtag #TowardsACivilizedLife:

In a paper published by Dr Hiranniya Kalesh P at Research Gate titled "Tribal Development : Problems and Prospects" the Tribes are very interested in becoming more involved in agricultural production and utilizing their lands for their own agricultural endeavours. They would like to see more tribal members, particularly the youth, develop an interest and assume a more active role in the many diverse agricultural opportunities. However, in today's technologically-based society, youth have lost the connection and interest in agriculture. In the past, many families operated small agricultural operations which youth were involved in. However, as agricultural practices have changed to meet growing populations, small family farms and ranches have decreased. As a result, tribal youth have not had opportunities to learn about agriculture or food production. Because of the Tribes' rich knowledge in indigenous agriculture methods, interest and involvement in production agriculture, tribal elders want youth to become more interested, educated and involved in agriculture.

In addition, skill development programmes are much needed by the tribal population since the comparitive HDI indices have revealed that they are way behind the general population:

In addition, the untouchability factor have been preventing them from setting up businesses such as food:

The problem does not end here, tribal population has been facing a lot of socio-economic issues and it has been documented on a volumnious scale by People's Archive of Rural India (PARI). Therefore, such an initiative became a trend on social media platforms instantly:

Checkbrand.online sympathises with the tribal cause and applauds such initiatives which ensure that social justice is preserved.
