Why the #BIGBRAIN Meme is trending

It all began on posters on 4chan and Tumblr as bragging. Because most users on these platforms communicate with one another in the form of memes, the channelers and Tumblr bloggers created a new form of a meme which was smart-sounding but nonsensical linguistic escalations, from “who” to “whom” to “whomst,” and depictions of a character known as Wojak, who has a comically large brain, images that demonstrated the intelligence of whoever excerted the said images.

Since then, the idea of an progressive intelligence has itself evolved, traveling across the 'memescape' from Tumblr and 4chan to Twitter, in the form of what has become known as the Expanding/Big Brain meme. The Expanding/Big Brain so far the most popular of the levels of intelligence genre of meme, is an image that uses depictions of what happens inside your skull to show the difference between sheeple and the truly enlightened, from ordinary to the 'universe enfolding' Vitruvian Man.

The trend has been picked up on various social media platforms including Pintrest and Reddit. To know who is trending online, you can always visit checkbrand.online, an innovative tool to calculate your 'online worth'.

Many celebrities have used it as humour and also a means of communication to convey what they felt about a particular issue. BBC presenter Jamie Bartlett created his own " expanding brain meme" for his followers:

The big brain meme is a series of images depicts differently stimulated brainwaves relative to specific beliefs. It is also precisely what the internet needed to stroke its own collective ego. Quickly rising in popularity, the meme is a confluence of facetiousness and inanity.

And yes, you do reach the level of the Vetruvian Man when you start using checkbrand.online
