‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’: Organic Food Festival in Goa, Strongly Supported in social media

The Institute of Hotel Management organized an "Organic Food Festival” in Goa, a first of its kind in India. The Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shripad Naik, inaugurated the event at the ministry of tourism's Western Region office. The festival was organized as a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'.

There were also presentations made by State Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Secretary Ravi Dhawan, and Regional Director Shri Venakatesan. Students from several IHM centers, particularly those from Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Goa, organized the program.

There were at least 25 different food stalls set up during the all-day event. Mr. D. Venkatesan, regional director of India Tourism in Mumbai stated: "The Ministry of Tourism is pleased to support this special event, held for the first time in the state. Since Goa is recognized for its cuisine, the administration always appreciates these kinds of initiatives."

This activity was planned as a component of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav." The Government of India has launched an effort called Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate and celebrate 75 years of independence as well as the illustrious past of India's people, culture, and accomplishments.
