Fuel Prices Takes A Leap For Seventh Consecutive Day In India

 On Monday, the diesel and petrol prices were raised again. The prices have increased regularly for the seventh consecutive day.

In Delhi, petrol marks to Rs 89 per litre after being raised with 26 paise from the previous amount. The prices continue to raise in other cities including Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad and others.

Normal petrol prices have crossed Rs. 95 per litre in Mumbai, whereas with the additives it costs Rs 100 per litre in the Parbhani district. Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar has also seen a sudden spike in the petrol prices as it is now raised to more than Rs. 100 per litre. The petrol prices in Jaipur is raised to Rs 95.51 per litre. The oil marketing companies,  road transportation and other factors have led to hike in petrol and diesel prices. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol now costs above Rs. 90 per litre and in Bengaluru, a litre costs Rs 91.97. States like Patna and Thiruvananthapuram are witnessing the petrol rates as Rs. 91.67 and Rs 90.87. In Hyderabad, petrol prices have crossed the 90 mark and reached 92.53 per litre.

India has continuously seen exaggerated prices of petrol and diesel, even after seeking lower taxes on fuel prices. The diesel prices have also increased crossing Rs 80 in many major Indian cities. Bengaluru, for example, lives up to Rs 8412 per litre diesel and Bhubaneshwar to Rs. 86.63. In Hyderabad, the diesel prices have been raised to Rs. 86.55 per litre, Patna (Rs 84.84), Jaipur (Rs 87.76) and Chennai (Rs 84.34).

It has been reported that the global fuel prices have crossed $60 mark and further increased price hikes are speculated. Due to high taxes and levies, India already has high fuel prices, which could be disturbing for the citizens in the coming days.
