#Brandon Bernard's execution rocks the Digital Sphere

"If these are my last days, I pray that my words will live on forever, I hope my death will bring a meaning other than destruction"

Remember this smile, remember this face and remember his name. Convicted in circa 2000 along with his confederate Christopher Vialva, of car-jacking and murdering Todd and Stacie Bagley, married Christian youth ministers from Iowa, on the Fort Hood army base in Texas. At the time of the crime, Bernard was just 18 years old. Vialva kidnapped and shot the couple at close range as they lay inside the trunk of the car. Afterwards, Bernard set the car on fire.

For a crime, the establishment of a motive is important. Five of the jurors expressed their displeasure with the trial stating that the lawyers defending Bernard & Vialva did a poor job. Although they agreed that both Bernard and Vialva were blamable, they said that Bernard did not seem to have a clear motive to kill the Bagley's.
The authorities have been accused of withhelding crucial information which could establish that Bernard was not a significant member of a youth gang, making him less of a threat in the future.

Robert Owen, his lawyer stated that "Brandon made one terrible mistake at age 18. But he did not kill anyone, and he never stopped feeling shame and profound remorse for his actions."
Twitter exploded with reactions and the most famous came from the celebrity Kim Kardashian West with over 67 million followers who pleaded the government to show mercy. Just moments after the proclamation of execution, Kim tweeted:

Campaigns and petitions were created and people were asked to speak up for the accused because they believed he had a minor role in the crime and that he should be given another chance:

However, these were not ample to prove him innocent and Brandon Bernard became the First execution of Donald Trump's final days.
"I'm sorry. That's the only words that I can say that completely capture how I feel now and how I felt that day," he said, according to the Associated Press.

For all one can say for Brandon : "this is a court of law young man, not a court of justice"
