Happy Birthday Govinda: Wishing the ‘Comedy King’ of Bollywood

Today is the 57th birthday of Bollywood's famous actor Govinda. On this special occasion of his birthday, from fans to Bollywood stars, all have been congratulating the ‘Hero No1’ of the Indian Cinema. Govinda, who entered Bollywood in 1986, has done many hits in the film world. People still do not get tired of praising him for his work.

Govinda reached the pinnacle of Bollywood as the most iconic and beloved actor and soon received the crown of ‘Comedy King’  but the path to stardom isn’t easy for anybody and in his early days of struggle Govinda was no different than a man with plenteous dreams in the city of dreams, Mumbai.

Before stepping into Bollywood, Govinda had to make numerous attempts just to sustain a livelihood. There was a time when Govinda was wandering from one place to another in search of a Job.  There was a time when the actor tried to get a job as a steward in a 5-star hotel in Mumbai.

“I had gone to the Taj Hotels seeking a job but they could not offer me one because I was unable to communicate in the English language,” said Govinda during an interview given to Simi Grewal.

Good times do not arrive for one who relies on time to change things on its own but instead for the one who believes in sheer Hard-Work. Govinda after his debut movie 1986’s Ilzaam, went unstoppable and has appeared in almost 165 movies. The actor received numerous awards for his contribution to the entertainment industry and most notable among them are 3 Filmfare and 2 IFFA awards.

Various artists and journalists took to social media for congratulating the ‘Comedy King’ of Bollywood on his birthday.

Actor Ravi Kishan while greeting the ‘King of Comedy’ wrote on Twitter, “Today is the birthday of the person who has been spreading happiness, making us laugh and exuding positivity. Wishing King of Comedy and Dancing Superstar Govinda Ji a very happy birthday I pray for his good health success and happiness always..... @govindaahuja21 #Govinda.”

While official twitter handle of National Film Archive of India shared a video tribute for the birthday boy Govinda.

“On the occasion of #FaceOfTheWeek #Govinda’s birthday, a throwback to some of his popular dance numbers in #Hindi cinema,” NFAI while sharing tribute video on Govinda’s Film Career.

“It's #Govinda's birthday and we can't help but shake a leg to his grooviest numbers,” from official twitter handle of Indian Filmfare.

“Happy birthday #Govinda..Party popper #AIRBHUJ wishes many more blissful years to one of the most popular dancing star of Bollywood, an awesome entertainer & actor Govinda on his birthday. Stay tuned at 9:45am today to listen our special 'Chitrarang' dedicated to him,” said All India Radio (AIR) in a tweet.

The Bollywood Hungama journalist Faridoon Shahryar also took to twitter for wishing the veteran actor and wrote “Happy birthday #Govinda ji :).”
