#SaviorofKollywoodVijay: Not on OTT, New Movie 'Master' to hit the theatres soon
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Thalapathy Vijay's "Master" is one of the most awaited movies of Kollywood. The movie is expected to hit the theatres by Pongal 2021, however, the official trailer would be released on new year. The film starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi was supposed to hit the theatres on April 9, 2020 but had to be postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Twitter has been trending with the news with hashtag #SaviourofKollywoodVijay and #MasterTrailer:
Rumours are ubiquitous that the trailer of Master is to release on New Year 2021 as the clock strikes 12. If the suppositions are true, the Master team might announce the trailer release date. However, an announcement regarding the same is yet to be made by the crew. The hashtag has crossed over 10,000 tweets so far. The official twitter handle of the movie made the proclamation:
According to the sources, the Tamil Nadu minister Kadambur Raju, Vijay's new movie will release in theatres on January 13, 2021, one day ahead of Pongal. He further stated that he will review the application regarding special shows for Master when the makers file it. The makers have not announced the release date yet.
The official statement read: "As we continue to battle the pandemic, we hope you are all safe and doing fine. We understand and can feel the amount of excitement among the audience to celebrate our #Master in theatres. We await the Big Day to come, as much as you do. With lot of rumours surfacing in the past few days, we would like to clarify our stand on it. Though we have an offer from a reputed OTT service provider, we prefer to the theatrical release, which is the need of the hour for the industry to survive the on-going crisis. We also request the theatre owners to stand with us and provide their support for reviving the Tamil Film Industry. We hope to reach out to you soon, with the good news."
