The Music Legend Who Launched Legends like Eminem and Snoop Dogg | Dr. Dre Hospitalized With A Brain Stroke

Rapper and iconic creator Dr. Dre underwent treatment for suspected brain aneurysm at the hospital on Tuesday, reported the Los Angeles Times quoting sources familiar with his diagnosis. The music titan was stable, said the article, echoed by entertainment outlet TMZ media, which broke the story. Representatives of Dre did not respond immediately to an AFP email. Among the most prominent figures in hip hop, the 55-year-old rapper born Andre Young is known to have risen to commercial fame with the ground-breaking gangsta rap pioneers N.W.A. before producing the distinctively West Coast G-Funk style.

Thanking his family, friends, and fans, the American Rap-Legend from his official Instagram account wrote, “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!.”

The 55-year-old music entrepreneur, Andre Young aka Dr. Dre, did not inform why he was taken to hospital.

In his early days, Dre was a member of the NWA rap group and later lauched his debut album in the year 1992, namely ‘The Chronic’.

The Seven-Time Grammy Award winner has helped several other musicians predominantly rappers by providing them a stage of opportunity. Dr. Dre is associated with launching careers of mega musicians like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar, among a host of various othr recording artists. He is founder of music company called ‘Aftermath Entertainment’ and also holds the position of Co-founder for entertainment businesses like ‘Beats Electronics’ and ‘Death Row Records’.

He is also the founder of Aftermath Entertainment and the co-founder of Beats Electronics and Death Row Records.

Reports of Dre's hospital admission prompted an endless stream of warm wishes on social networks, particularly from fellow rappers, including N.W.A. co-founder Ice Cube, posting, "Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre."

The news story was also covered by the Variety Magazine and the Associated Press, where they tweeted with Dre’s statement about his health condition.

Wishing Dre a speedy recovery, famous American Rapper Snoop Dogg shared an old video where the two can be seen performing on stage with Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent, 2Pac, and Kendrick. Snoop Dogg captioned his Instagram post, "Get well Dr Dre we need you cause."
