Cash and jewellery worth INR 168 cr were found in IT raids across UP, allegedly involving SP leader

Samajwadi Party leader and associates have been under the radar of the Income Tax Department as they have found INR 153 Crores of black money. The amount recovered by theIT department also includes INR 15.50 crore of cash and jewelry after multiple raids across Uttar Pradesh. The six-day raid's primary target was the Ghanaram Construction office in Jhansi, from which the business operated.

IT teams from the income tax department conducted many raids, searching for the company's records in areas including Noida, Jhansi, Lucknow, Delhi, and even links to Goa. Around 40 crore rupees worth of ‘benami assets’ were also been exposed in the raid.

Apart from the cash found, the income tax division also discoverd the proof of INR 250 crore worth of cash transactions and documents for land worth INR 300–400 crores. Ghanaram Construction made enormous properties public that were not even included in the company records.

Meanwhile, the news broke out on social media. It became trending as supporters of SP leaders started blaming Yogi Government for allegedly targeting them. A few months ago, the I-T department allegedly discovered a connection to Ghanaram Constructions during a raid at a hospital in Kanpur. According to reports, during a raid at a Kanpur hospital, the income tax team discovered some information about the building company.

The CA of Ghanaram Constructions went for a morning walk before the August 3 raid in Jhansi. The income tax teams entered the building and found the vault. It was uprooted and transported by the team. The CA is supposedly a partner in the company that engages in dubious business practices and tax fraud.
