Know Why ‘Pompeo’ Is Trending On The Second Day Of New Year | A Social Media Pick

Michael Richard Pompeo aka Mike Pompeo, a former CIA Director, and a former US Army Officer and incumbent US Secretary of State is shooting trends with the pompeo tag on social media since morning. The reason is not the present day US election results, wondering what is it?

So before we dig more into the matter, let us understand more about the Pompeo events that caught media’s attention. Earlier this week, Mike Pompeo has labelled the Hong Kong’s administration as “lackeys” of a “fragile dictatorship” of China. “The Beijing government has snavelled the freedoms of ten Hong Kong Activists who were trying to flee the territory but eventually caught and jailed,” mentioned Mike Pompeo.

This wasn’t all to arouse the trends on social media, earlier this morning (IST); the US Secretary of State bombarded around 30 tweets praising the Trump admin achievements on the microblogging social media portal of Twitter and in response to this, a whole bunch of crowd gathered on social network divided with for and against emotions. “On Oct. 12, 2020, we brought home two U.S. citizens released from Houthi custody in Yemen, and also the remains of a third American who tragically died while in captivity. The result of months of tenacious diplomacy by our embassies in the region. #AmericansFirst,” said Mike Pompeo.

“Vitali Shkliarov suffered 3 months of wrongful detention in Belarus. A huge team effort from @StateDept Med Services, @StateSPEHA, and our teams in Kyiv, Belarus, Minsk and Washington brought him home in October 2020,” said Mike Pompeo through his official Twitter handle.

“Today Pompeo sent a series of 30 bizarre tweets of the so-called accomplishments - a man who will go down as not only the worst Secretary of State in US history, but also among the most corrupt. You don't get to rewrite your legacy @SecPompeo. You enabled a dictator,” said Amy Siskind, a US activist.

“Measure Pompeo against his own goals. Iran advanced its nuclear program, North Korea built more nukes, Maduro more entrenched in power, China made huge advances at US expense, State Department gutted and Trump lost. Hard to think of a bigger loser than Mike Pompeo,” said Ben Rhodes, an American Author.

“I predict that #Swagger is not going to be a successful social media or political campaign for @SecPompeo,” said Ted Boutrous, another Twitter user.

Now we have no idea whether it’ll fall in or against the favour of trump administration but what we know for sure is that there days in oval office are falling short with the Presidential inauguration of Joe Biden scheduled on 20 January 2021.
