Know Why #RapeAccusedCM is Trending Today | CM Files a Defamation Lawsuit of One Billion
Recently on social media #RapeAccusedCM is seen trending raising questions as who are we talking about? These accusations are being aimed at the Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren in relation to a rape complaint filed at Mumbai police in the year 2013. Recently when a viral letter reportedly written by the victim caught everyone’s attention, the arguments on social media started rising.
This week Thursday, the National Commission for Women (NCW) had asked for a detailed action taken report from the Director General of Police (DGP) Maharashtra.
“It has come across a media report regarding a Mumbai-based model who alleged that she was not only raped by Hemant Soren and Suresh Nagre in 2013 but she and her family were also constantly threatened against speaking about the alleged incident in public,” said NCW in a Press Report.
This issue was recently highlighted on social media by BJP’s MP Nishi Kant Dubey in the month of July this year. “Mumbai Police should reinvestigate the matter,” was mentioned in Dubey’s tweet of July 28th.
In response to BJP’s Nisha Kant Dubey’s accusation, the accused Chief Minister of Jharkhand has filed a defamation law suit against Dubey seeking a massive compensation of 1 Billion Indian Rupees.
In his latest statement on the matter, the Chief Minister Hemant Soren gave out information about his approach with his lawyer in Mumbai. Soren had asked his lawyer to investigate the case and its related information with the Mumbai high court. He also mention that due to current pandemic situations and religious holidays, the investigation from his end is slowed than usual.
Meanwhile the political trends on Twitter are attacking Soren’s dignity of being a state’s Chief Minister.
“Shame On Jharkhand CM, Maximum RT And Repeat With Me #RapeAccusedCM,” Said Dinesh Chaudhary, Member of Legislative Assembly, UP.
Another BJP Leader Narendra Kumar Chawla took to twitter while accusing the Jharkhand CM of Rape charges wrote “I Demand Resign Of Jharkhand CM.”
“Rapist is Rapist it doesn’t matter who he is. #RapeAccusedCM,” Gorakhnath Baba, Member of Legislative assembly, UP.
“When Jharkhand state’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren himself stands accused of rape, who will guarantee the safety of Jharkhand’s women. #RapeAccusedCM,” said BJP’s Jamshedpur Twitter handle.
“Congress speaks of minority interests only during elections. Today their government’s CM, Hemant Soren himself stands accused of raping a minority woman. Will Congress truly stand up for minority rights and help the rape victim get justice? #RapeAccusedCM,” said Arun Yadav, BJP state & IT cell.
