#SureshRaina Arrested In A Raid For Violating COVID-19 Norms
Former Indian Cricketer Suresh Raina who recently retired from Indian cricket on 15th August 2020, has made again to the news as he was arrested for attending a party in Mumbai’s club.
The cricketer was arrested during a raid for being participated in a queue of people who were responsible for breaking the COVID-19 norms in Dragonfly, a Mumbai based high-figh club.
On Monday 21st December, some of the prominent visitors in the club including Guru Randhawa and cricketer Raina were arrested along with other 34 people. The Mumbai police took the visitors into custody, arrested them and then bailed them the same day for catering their preposterous participation with the club.
The actor, singer and others were booked under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.
As Raina was arrested, fans took to twitter to show their support and wished him fine days ahead.
Raina who made a glorious career in the International Cricket 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is for Team India after making his ODI debut in July 2005 against Sri Lanka at the age of 19.
Raina is also the first Indian cricketer to score a T20I century.
Raina was arrested for being at the club which was open despite the permissible time limit and broke the COVID-19 norms.
