Exit polls have begun to predict an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) victory in Delhi before the MCD elections results on Wednesday (December 7). There are 250 seats in all, with 126 constituting the majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to suffer its first defeat in MCD elections in 15 years.

The election for the 250 municipal wards in Delhi saw about 50% of eligible voters cast ballots as of Sunday at 5:30 p.m. Both the BJP and the AAP claimed victory in the crucial race. According to officials, there were no significant issues with the electronic voting machines, and voting took place peacefully with high security in place at the 3,360 critical booths spread across 493 locations where more than 25,000 police officers, nearly 13,000 home guards, and 100 paramilitary companies were stationed.

By the completion of the election on December 4, the state election commission recorded a turnout of more than 50%. The Andrews Ganj booth had the lowest turnout (33.74%) and the Bhaktawarpur booth had the highest turnout (65.74%).

With all exit polls indicating that the saffron party will receive a significant majority of the vote, the Gujarat Bharat Janata Party unit is optimistic and convinced that it will form the next administration in the state. Yamal Vyas, the chief spokesperson for the Gujarat BJP, asserted that the newly registered Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won't secure even one seat in the 182-member state Assembly. Voter tallies will be tallied on December 8.

According to exit polls, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party was expected to win anywhere between two and thirteen seats despite the AAP's robust election campaign and its lucrative promises. Gujarat has a majority score of 92.

BJP is also flourishing in Himachal Pradesh. The Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election outcomes in 2022 take on even greater significance in light of the various changes the political environment in that state has undergone over the past five years.

Himachal Pradesh held elections on November 12 to select all 68 assembly members. On every seat, there were candidates from both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also running for office in the state, ensuring that on December 8th, all eyes will be on the triangular election.

Now, it’s time to wait and observe people’s favourite party celebrate the victory and rule these states.
