The inability of the Indian squad to win any of these competitions—the 2019 ODI World Cup, the 2021 T20 World Cup, or the 2022 T20 World Cup—now haunts the entire team and, more recently, the entire country.

Sports fans may be wondering what specifically went wrong with the Indian team. Let's take a closer look at the main reasons why India lost the T20 World Cup in 2022:

1. India makes an untimely bat error.

168/6 is a competitive score in a World Cup semi-final. But it's not a fantastic one, especially not against a team with the firepower of England and on a good batting surface like the Adelaide Oval. The fact that the final score was a par score of 168 despite fireworks from power batter Hardik Pandya's stunning 63 from 33 balls at the end implies that there was an issue with purpose.

2. Damage is done when the powerplay stutters.

The difference in intent was crystal obvious throughout the respective Powerplays, which provided the game's most dramatic contrast. Even though losing KL Rahul for five early on was a loss, India just slightly exceeded a run-per-ball throughout that time of fielding restrictions. By the time they reached 38/1 after six, neither Virat Kohli nor Rohit Sharma had found their rhythm.

3. Not Playing Wrist Spinners

India spent a lot of money on Yuzvendra Chahal for the Mega event, but Ashwin was chosen instead as a precaution. In the T20 World Cup 2022, India took part in six matches, five of which were in the Super 12s and one in the semifinals. Chahal, the team's lone wrist spinner among its 15 players, did not play in any of these games. The targets of persistent coaching were Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin.
