MUCH AWAITED SEQUEL OF DRISHYAM IS ALL SET TO RELEASE ON OTT PLATFORM

This Friday is going to be a different present for the movie fans, specifically who loves suspense and thriller as the highly awaited 'Drishyam 2' finally premieres on Amazon Prime Video on February 19.

The hype reached its height with the launch of the teaser and trailer in recent weeks, making all the buzz right from the time the first movie ended. Meena, Esther and Ansiba are also staring in the Malayalam crime thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph, starring Mohanlal in the lead role.

Teaming up another time to leave viewers in surprise, the director and superstar gave a sneak peek from the sets to their devoted fans and also talked about how difficult it is to create a film full of twists and turns. The duo announced that only a few of the cast and crew are aware of the climax, with everyone waiting to see how the events unfold in the upcoming film.

While recalling the hilarious moments during the set where he spent enough time pulling legs his fellow crew members, the iconic malyali superstar Mohanlal says, "No one else knows about the climax and what is going to happen, except for a few individuals, including Jeethu and myself. For them, each and every scene is different, because everybody has their own version of the end. I used to have fun with the assistant directors and ask one of them, 'Tell me what's going to happen, please?' And they would say, 'No sir, I should really not say it!' It was really interesting because I would call them in and ask them all the time, in their view point, about their idea of Georgekutty and what they thought was going on. It's funny that no one knew the whole story, really. When the movie comes out, it'll be a treat for them. They're going to be like, 'Oh my Goodness, I've never thought of this!"

Director Jeethu Joseph said, "We were shooting in Kochi and there were some dialogues in a suspense build-up scene. So, what we’d do is take the shot of scene and extract the audio before saving the scene to avoid anyone from listening to it, as they might understand what's the climax."

'Drishyam 2' will stream on Amazon Prime Video in 240 countries and regions starting February 19, 2021. Under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas the movie is directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Anthony Perumbavoor.
