The Tiger Roars: Ramin Bahrani’s new movie takes the internet by storm

Based on Arvind Adiga’s Man Booker Prize-winning novel 'The White Tiger', director Ramin Bahrani’s upcoming movie with the same name, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas & Rajkummar Rao is all set to release on Friday, 22nd January, 2021 on the online streaming platform Netflix. The film will also witness the debut of Adarsh Gaurav.
The release has already created a buzz on the social media platforms and is regarded as one of the most influential movies of our time:

The White Tiger records the journey of Balram Halwai from a poor villager to a successful entrepreneur. The film aims to make a commentary on the struggles of India’s working class. While unveiling the trailer sometime back, Priyanka Chopra had said that "she was proud to be a part of the film as it was about breaking free from what one believes is his or her destiny,".

Priyanka further went ahead to comment that:  “It made me uncomfortable and made me think about a part of the world that we sort of desensitise ourselves to.”

The film has received positive reviews from the critics so far. Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal reported: "A zestful epic blessed with rapier wit, casually dazzling dialogue, gorgeous cinematography (by Paolo Carnera) and, at the center of it all, a sensational star turn."

Owen Gleiberman of Variety went ahead to state: "The White Tiger" is a tale of beating the steepest odds, and for much of the film Bahrani is in full, boisterous command as a storyteller."
