Grenade Explosion Rocks #Tral

The new year has begun with a terror attack by militants in South Kashmir which injured eight people when they hurled a grenade towards the security forces at the Tral bus stand area in Pulwama district. Earlier, J&K DGP Dilbag Singh had told the press agencies that there were three terrorists active in the Jammu region in Kishtwar district. The news has been trending on the social media platforms like twitter:

According to the Smile Kashmir Foundation, the list of the injured persons are provided below:

The probable reason behind the attack seems to be the recent DDC elections since the sepratists have never favoured any form of democratic processes in the valley and have discouraged people from particiaption as well.

It has been often debated that the dilution of Article 370 has reduced the number of terror attacks in the valley. However, the statistics puncture those claims:

"Eight civilians sustained injuries in the explosion. They were shifted to hospital for treatment. Doctors said all of them are out of danger," the police said. The injured civilians were rushed to the hospital and the area was immediately cordoned off.

According to the media reports, earlier on 31 December, terrorists had shot dead a Srinagar based 70-years-old jeweller from Punjab who had recently received a domicile certificate after having lived in the state for four decades.
Claiming responsibility of the attack in a statement, The Resistance Front, an outfit of Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, asserted that the new domicile law was 'unacceptable' and that it would treat all other than the indigenous Kashmiris who acquire property in J&K as 'occupiers'. The terror outfit went on to comment further, "More to come."

The domicile law which came into effect after the abrogation of Article 370 created a stir in the valley and fears among the locals of losing not only jobs but also land to “outsiders”.

Many Kashmiris have spoken for the safeguards for land and domicile citing unemployment as the cause:

The issue of security still persists in Kashmir and apart from substantial measures taken in this regard, not much seems to have been achieved. Checkbrand.online hopes and wishes that may normalcy and peace return to the valley soon.
