Google’s Language Expansion Feature Hiders Language Barriers
In order to vanish the gap between local languages and national languages and to bestow a superficial user experience, google has decided to expand language expansion as one of its features.
The company aims to make sure that everyone can access web without any language hindrance.
Google has also said it is planning to invest more in AI and ML at the Google’s Research Centre in India and finally make its AI model more accessible across the ecosystem.
The company has finally made changes to some of its services to make them more language friendly and also announced a new approach of translating languages.
Here are the major changes users will see:
- Product language change
Since the users face language barriers when searching for products, the problem is now solved as Google has the option to review the product in local languages. The languages available except Hindi and English are Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bangla. The Search option will now translate the queries in local languages even when the typed query is in English.
- Google Lens Alterations
Google Lens’ feature that can capture the mathematics and science questions for students and let them to the exact solution now has a new feature. The students can now get the solutions in Hindi as well. This is a major change which definitely helps students who are not frequent in a single language.
- Multilingual Representations for Indian Languages
The Google’s new feature MuRIL delivers more efficiency and accuracy in handling transliteration, spelling variations and mixed languages and other nuances of languages. MuRIL handles Indian languages better than any previous model and helps in transliteration of Hindi language better.
With the new changes, there are better chances of audience using the web without any language hindrance.
Google sets its sight on growing its business in India and this is one fine step towards it.
