Mathematics have always been a part of our lives. From a two-year-old counting the number of chocolates to scientists and mathematicians making greater innovations, mathematics has been a support for everything big and small.

Today is #Nationalmathematicsday which is celebrated in the honour of Srinivasa Ramanujan. The day is celebrated to remember the contributions of Ramanujan in the mathematical world. This day marks his teachings, and to collect his reminiscence, his intelligence as well as to forward it to the coming generation.

Before getting to know a little more about the math-guru Ramanujan, let’s have a look at the heartiest remembrances that Indians cater to Ramanujan.

Ramanujan was born on 22nd December 1887 and was one of the humans who made substantial contributions to mathematics. Even though he did not receive any professional training in mathematics, he managed to mark his presence since the British rule.

Once Hans Eyenck stated "He tried to interest the leading professional mathematicians in his work, but failed for the most part. What he had to show them was too novel, too unfamiliar, and additionally presented in unusual ways; they could not be bothered."

Being a nation that birthed influential figures like Ramanujan, C R Rao and Satyendra Nath Bose India will always be looking forward to more innovations aiming to be the country that will façade the world to mathematics and its prodigy.
