Delhi Mayor Elections Postponed for 3rd Time amid Ruckus between AAP & BJP

After failing to complete the election twice before, the Delhi Municipal House was adjourned on Monday without electing a mayor. According to Satya Sharma, the presiding officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), elections will be held concurrently for the positions of mayor, deputy mayor, and members of the Standing Committee.

The Presiding Officer's announcement that the nominated members would also be able to vote in the elections for mayor, deputy mayor, and Standing Committee members caused a stir in the House, according to news agency PTI.

After a delay of 30 minutes, the MCD House came together at 11:30. She declared that elections for the positions of mayor, deputy mayor, and members of the Standing Committee would all take place at the same time.

According to Sharma, who was quoted by PTI, "Aldermen will be allowed to vote in the elections for mayor, deputy mayor, and Standing Committee members."

AAP council members objected to the news, and party leader Mukesh Goel argued that aldermen are not allowed to cast ballots.
