Capitol Siege: Indian Flag Waved At Trump’s MAGA Protest In Washington DC | Indians Denounce The Act As Shameful And Defaming

India is a rising Economy and is in far better Financial and Democratic position when compared to its menace neighbours. At one end, one of India’s trouble maker and world’s terror hub, Pakistan is surrendered to heavy financial debts worldwide and on the other end communist China seems to be the world’s most difficult place to stay, with its anti-freedom regime and continuous suppression against FOE. So yes, India doesn’t have good neighbours at west and east but this doesn’t stop India in progressing and building its own pride.

Although, India’s past has witnessed multiple attempts of defacing its prestigious image and once again we’re witnessing something similar with a viral video trending on social media with hashtag #indianflag. The video is reported to be from the site of Trump’s MAGA protest at the Washington DC.

 As Trump's followers barged into the U.S. Parliament to preserve Congressional certification of the Electoral College, the appearance of the Indian National flag grabbed the notice of many Indian social media users, including the Indian lawmakers, who condemned the incident.

India’s ruling political party, BJP’s MP Varun Gandhi while sharing the video on the social media platform, questioned why Indian flag is being waved.

He captioned the video with, “Why is there an Indian flag there??? This is one fight we definitely don’t need to participate in…”

Many Indian nationalist are realizing this incident as an attempt to defame India and surge of demand from many in identifying the culprit who did this during the white house protest.

Indian Parliamentarian Priyanka Chaturvedi denounced the matter as shameful; she wrote “Whoever is waving this Indian flag should feel ashamed. Don’t use our tricolour to participate in such violent & criminal acts in another country,”

“Third world knows better behaviour than what we see today from a country which most democracies look up to. Look for the rot within Mr Rubio and that is where the answer to the problem lies. Maybe you need to correct your words,” she added in another tweet while replying to earlier remarks of a US senator named Marco Rubio from the State of Florida.

Replying again, the senator wrote, “There is nothing patriotic about what is occurring on Capitol Hill. This is 3rd world style anti-American anarchy.”

Stand-up comedian Vir Das was good at taking a quip at the flag-waving person. The Comedian wrote, “Dear random Indian dude waving Indian flag at the #CapitolRiots Every large crowd IS NOT A CRICKET MATCH!.”

Coming as a surprising response to Varun Gandhi’s video post,  the MP and Author from the Indian state of Kerala, Shashi Tharoor wrote, “Unfortunately, @varungandhi80, there are some Indians with the same mentality as that Trumpist mob, who enjoy using the flag as a weapon rather than a badge of pride, & denounce all who disagree with them as anti-nationals & traitors. That flag there is a warning to all of us.”
