Congress BJP Fight Continues Even For Coronavirus Vaccine

As India crosses every benchmark with regular rising covid cases and finally there’s some positivity with the arrival of covaxin, India’s two largest opposition parties again strike a word of war on the vaccine’s emergency approval.

Recently the Congress has questioned the potency of Covaxin which was allowed emergency authorisation from the Centre along with another vaccine Covidshield made by the Serum Institute of India.

The battle rose after the Drugs Controller of India chief VG Somani granted emergency approval of Covaxin and Serum Institute of India’s Covishield.

Congress stalwart Jairam Ramesh questioned the vaccine while he also asked why there are modifications to the internationally accepted protocols.

Shashi Tharoor, one of the prominent Congress leader also called the acceptance of the vaccine premature and asked the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to respond.

Rajya Sabha MP Rajesh Sharma while questioning the authenticity of the vaccine said “ “The Health Ministry needs to give cogent reasons for dispensing with the mandatory protocols and requirements in this case, since it involves the health and safety of frontline workers who will be vaccinated under the restricted category.”

Responding to the Congress members, BJP’s leaders came forward explaining the tits and tats for their decisions.

BJP President JP Nadda accused Congress of falsifying the party’s reputation and having malicious intentions to shift country’s faith on government.

Nadda said “Time and again we have seen whenever India achieves something commendable – that will further public good – the Congress comes up with wild theories to oppose and ridicule the accomplishments,” he tweeted The more they oppose, the more they are exposed. Latest example is the Covid vaccines. To further their own failed politics and nefarious agendas, Congress and other Opposition leaders are trying to cause panic in the minds of the people.” Nadda also said that the Opposition should indulge in politics on other matters and stop “playing” with the lives of the people.”

He further added “They should introspect about how their lies on the COVID-19 vaccine will be used by vested interest groups for their own agendas.”

Hardeep Singh Puri, Civil Aviation Minister of India also said Congress is maligning people’s trust and are doing petty politics.

“Our in-house cynics M/s Jairam, Tharoor and Akhilesh are behaving true to form,” Puri said in a tweet. “They first questioned the valour of our soldiers and are now unhappy that the two vaccines to get DCGI nod are made in India. Clearly they are on a quest for permanent political marginalization,” he tweeted.

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan stood up against Congress and criticized Congress’ questioning the vaccine.

India has so far a total of 1,03,23,965 coronavirus cases and 1,49,435 deaths.
