Jammu and Kashmir’s internet connectivity remains hampered as the administration today announced extension of 4G ban services in the Union territory except for two districts. The two districts namely Ganderbal and Udhampur will have regular 4G connection without any interruption.

The order came Friday stating 2G internet connection in the Union territory. The order further stated that the 4G ban continues from 26th December and will remain in force till January 8, 2021, unless further notice from the administration.

According to sources, the order comes after various news of terrorist activities across the borders. The stopping of 4G services in UT is because a large number of terrorists were trying to cross boundaries and infiltrate into the union territory and the internet connectivity ban will block such activities.

Recently, Farooq Abdullah, PAGD chief has also requested to revoke the 4G ban in Jammu & Kashmir. Abdullah also complained about the problems faced by students, teachers and doctors due to poor internet connection.
