IIT-Madras Develops Atmanirbhar Mobile Operating System ‘BharOs’; Receives 29.4% Positive Sentiments from Audiences: CheckBrand

The 100 crore mobile phone users in India could benefit from an indigenous mobile operating system created by a company based at IIT Madras. This software, known as "BharOS," is available for commercially available mobile phones. In addition to giving users a safe environment, it makes a significant contribution to "Atmanirbhar Bharat."

Currently, BharOS Services are being offered to businesses with strict privacy and security standards whose employees handle sensitive data that necessitates confidential communications on constrained mobile apps. Such users require private 5G networks with access to private cloud services.

BharOS has no default applications (NDA). Accordingly, users are not compelled to use apps that they may not be familiar with or trustworthy. This strategy also gives users more control over the permissions that apps are granted on their device.
