Mathura Authority Cuts Power Supply of Shahi Idgah Mosque; Receives 90.6% Negative Sentiments from the Online Audiences: CheckBrand
On Sunday, the Shahi Idgah mosque in Mathura had its electricity cut off and a FIR had been filed against it for having an unauthorised electricity connection. Tanveer Ahmed, the Shahi Idgah Masjid Committee secretary, was also hit with a fine.
A joint team of the Electricity department and Mathura district police reportedly cut the connection. At Krishna Nagar Police Station, a FIR was also filed in the case under section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003. The action was reportedly taken in response to a complaint from the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust.
The Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust and the Shahi Idgah mosque are engaged in a legal dispute over the mosque's property.
