Vimeo Cuts 11% of Its Employees in the Layoffs, Cites ‘Uncertain Economic Environment’ In Email
Another round of layoffs has begun at Vimeo, a company representative confirmed on Wednesday to Insider. Anjali Sud, CEO of Vimeo, informed staff via email that 11% of the company's workforce would be affected by the layoffs.
Sud sent "Vimeans" an email that began, "This was a very hard decision that impacts each of us deeply." In order to help Vimeo become a more focused and successful business that operates with the necessary discipline in a volatile economic environment, it is also the right thing to do.
Sud wrote in the email that each employee would receive notification and an invitation to meet with their team leader and a human resources representative. In accordance with its annual regulatory filing, the business employed more than 1,200 people in December 2021.
A spokesperson for Vimeo told Insider that the company will use the layoffs to address its financial issues.
