The Queen's Gambit Netflix's all-time top trending and viewed series is stealing the limelight recently.The Netflix show has piqued revived interests in a centuries-old game. The game of Chess is believed to be a derivation from a 7th-century Indian game, and it has long captivated players across the globe since then.

Recently over the internet, we’ve seen a surge that shows how people are unanimously getting in love with the Queen's Gambit, a Netflix exclusive series. Now there are some solid reasons as to why this show is making a buzz all over the media.

Based on Walter Tevis’s Novel in 1983, the Netflix series depicts the life of Beth Harmon portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy. The story surrounds the U.S-Soviet Cold War era, orphaned chess prodigy Beth Harmon competes in a quest to become the exceptional chess player in the world.

The story showcases Beth’s life with some retro scenes and costumes as a gratifying output, along with an unbiased approach towards the deeply ingrained misogynistic attitudes that Beth faces in her early times.

According to Variety magazine, the show has bagged first place as the most-viewed web-series on Netflix within 28 days of its release on 23rd October 2020. To date, over 62 million Netflix subscribers have watched the show and its trending topic over the internet.

The show is setting a booming trend for playing the game of chess among audiences, making number of players at online game portal of chess.com grow by five folds. The Google search queries for how to play chess has hit an all-time high in 9 years, making Walter Tevis’s Novel 'The Queen's Gambit' a New York times best seller after 37 years of its release.

Even Twitter is trending with #QueensGambit where people are bombarding everything that could be related to the show. Although Chess is the central theme of the show, yet viewers need not be chess players.

In fact, the whole story has been scripted in a fashion that binds people of all traits and backgrounds. The show focuses much on the personality and character of a person with strong and never back down type commitment, making the competition of chess a much more thrilling subject.
