FIR Filed Against 8 in the Bengaluru Metro Pillar Collapse Case

Araga Jnanendra, the home minister for Karnataka, announced on Wednesday that a FIR had been filed in the case of the collapse of a metro pillar in Bengaluru against eight suspects.

Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC), five of its employees, and two members of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited have all been charged (BMRCL). The NCC is accused first (A1), then its representatives. According to police sources, A7 and A8 are the executive engineer and deputy chief engineer of the BMRCL, respectively. "We will definitely act. The company acted with complete negligence "said Jnanendra.

On Tuesday, the staging column of a metro pillar collapsed along the Outer Ring Road in East Bengaluru, killing a 28-year-old woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old child.

In order to construct pillar number 218 for Namma Metro's 38.44-km KR Puram-Airport line under Phase 2B, a number of vertical TMT bars were assembled into a circular column. At 10:45 am, a large circular column, weighing several tonnes, fell 40 feet along a busy road in HBR Layout. A scooter carrying Tejasvini, a software engineer, her husband Lohit Kumar, a civil engineer, their son Vihan, and their twin sister was struck by a column. Tejasvini and Vihan were seriously hurt and were taken across the street to Altius Multispeciality Hospitals by onlookers.
