Tesla’s Palatial Entry In India, Administers First Office In Bengaluru
Tesla, the US colossus chose Bengaluru to the first city for setting up its office in India.
On 12th January 2021, Tesla registered its office in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. CM YS Yediyurappa welcomed the Tesla chief Elon Musk to his state.
Yediyurappa tweeted ‘Karnataka will lead India's journey towards Green Mobility. Electric Vehicle Manufacturer Tesla will soon start its operations in India with an R&D unit in Bengaluru. I welcome Elon Musk to India and Karnataka and wish him all the very best.’
Tesla’s arrival in India was indicated last month when Musk responded to one of the comments ‘India wants Tesla’ with ‘Next year for sure.’
Tesla motors and the Energy Private Limited incorporated their registered office on 8th January in the city which already is known for its tech giant companies and their shares.
While Tesla’s entry to India began with Bengaluru, it aims to explore cities and register more of its branches in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.’
India will witness the Tesla Model 3 which costs around Rs. 55 lakhs.
Nitin Gadkari, India’s union minister announced the arrival of Tesla in India will begin with its cheapest model.
Tesla’s Indian unit has three directors including David Feinstein, who is currently a senior executive at Tesla.
At the time when our PM is focusing on issues such as controlled pollution and electric vehicles to reduce India’s dependency on oil, Musk’s welcoming in India is appropriate.
